How to Take An Effective Mental Health Day - a Koala Bear kind of day…..

You deserve a Koala Bear kind of day….

We all live very busy lives. We humans are constantly trying to balance between work, and play. Unfortunately this balance favours work. As we begin to ease back into a semi pandemic life this need for balance is most important.

Self preserving is an important act. Part of this act is to take time for yourself, to unplug and recharge. It may be to expensive for some of use to travel but a day off from the office is just as good. Feeling guilty, don’t. Research indicates that time away from the office and desk does the body in many ways. It helps decrease cortisol levels, which helps adrenaline levels subside. It gives your brain a break to relax and reconnect with the rest of your body. Yes reconnect with your body!

To make the most of an effective mental health day - think and do like a Koala. What does this mean, you can do as little and as much as you want. Whether it is the activity of taking a forest bath- nature walk, or a yoga class, or having a cup of coffee on the balcony or even taking a nap, play on your day off at your pace.
