Nebulizing therapy

Nebulizing therapy requires the use of a small medical compressor that coverts liquid nutrient suspended in saline solution into a gas.  In this form the patient is able to inhale the vapour through a mask which directly affects the lung system.

Benefits of the therapy:

This type of therapy is helpful for the following conditions;

  • Asthma

  • MAC

  • Cystic fibrosis

  • Chronic cold/cough

  • Emphysema

  • COPD

What is involved in treatment?

Treatment sessions are 20-30 minutes in length.  Patients wear a nebulizing mask over their mouth and nose, and inhale vapour while in a relaxed state.  Repeat treatments may be required for individuals who have more chronic condition like asthma, MAC, cystic fibrosis, COPD and emphysema.
